I am interested in the mechanical process of photography, both in the past and the present. I also like to investigate authenticity in images, how they represent a visual history and how that can be manipulated and changed with technology. In this series I want to explore how the past and present combine to create a new version of history, part vintage tintypes, part self portraits from traditional process photo booths, when combined, create a haunting blend of the past and present in one single, still image. This interaction between the historical and the present in this series allows me to create new versions of Past Lives as well as an exploration of my own life and future.
