When one examines oneself they often find things within themselves, which are as universal as they are personal. This body of work is a series of self portraits, which have become a cathartic ritual for my emotional self.
I use layers of other materials in relation to the self portrait and the dichotomy created between the two subjects speaks volumes about the physical vs. the psychological, and even more so, how they overlap and affect each other both literally and metaphorically.
